Search Function not working, and difficulty navigating around notes when creating on iPhone

I have a two problems.  Just recently the search function doesn't work.  I will search a word - that I can even see in the title of a note and the search will come up blank.  I suspect this may be due to a recent upgrade, and wondering when this will be resolved.

The second is that when typing a note on iPhone, it is hard to navigate around the note.  For example the cursor will not move back to earlier in the note to correct or edit.  The only way to solve this that I have discovered is to exit the note and re-enter.  Is there a solution to this?
