Evernote takes long time to open a long note

On my current phone (LG G5), Evernote takes a long time to open up a long note. On my previous phone (Galaxy S4) I did not have this problem. This makes it very annoying, having to wait up to a minute each time I open up the editor to make changes. (I only have this problem with the long notes, not the short ones).

Whenever I visit the Evernote website through the Chrome browser on my phone (LG G5) and open the same note, it opens right away. The website works well, so the issue seems to be with the app itself, not my phone.

have you already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application ?

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes I have tried that, and it didn't make a difference.
