Evernote Clipper version 7.1 issues in Chrome browser

I am using version 7.1 of the clipper and nothing happens when I click on the Evernote Clipper icon. I am having to reload the page for the clipper to activate and screenshot. Also when I clip a screenshot, the page that I clipped from comes back as a blank page instead of showing the next page. I am using the clipper to take notes for a class and this update has slowed things down significantly. Can someone please advise, thank you.
