(Archived) Pasting from Evernote loses double-line breaks

ttop

Idea

This is really frustrating -- when I have text that contains multiple line breaks in Evernote for Mac and I copy-and-paste it into another application, whether Emacs or Gmail in a browser, the line breaks all collapse to a single line break.

For example, this text:

What types of things do we want to know about our tests?

* What were the most common reasons for failure?

* What are the new failures (what failed this test run that didn't fail last run)?

Becomes:

What types of things do we want to know about our tests?

* What were the most common reasons for failure?

* What are the new failures (what failed this test run that didn't fail last run)?

This actually quites limits Evernote's usefulness to me, as any time I want to use my notes elsewhere I have to manually re-insert all my multiple line breaks.

How about making this a preference:

1. preserve line breaks as is

2. limit consecutive line breaks to [n] blank lines

It should be smart enough to detect that a bunch of white space (only) characters on a line still constitute a blank line.

This still occurs... can someone from Evernote please look into this issue? I don't want a special setting to work around the problem, it should just always preserve the exact text you wrote (having a special setting to do so seems ridiculous).
