I was excited when I found the setting to not show recent notes in the Today Widget. Unfortunately, while this setting does successfully prevent your recent notes from appearing, it replaces them with a generic message about how your recent messages will appear here.
This is a frustrating waste of space, but it is worse than that – you have to expand the widget to the maximum size in order to even display the shortcut buttons for creating a new note or searching. If I have the recent notes hidden in my settings, obviously I don't want to see a message telling me about them in the widget. The only reason to even have the widget enabled at that point is for access to the shortcut buttons.
Please fix this, so that when set not to show recent notes in the widget, only the shortcuts will appear.
