Capture Previous Snapshot Area w/ Multiple monitors

With a multiple monitor setup using 'Capture Previous Snapshot Area' on a secondary or tertiary monitor results in a snapshot (with the same dimensions as previous snapshot) of the primary monitor. 

Is this a feature or a bug? I've remedied this by moving the menubar in mac system settings to my prefered monitor for screengrabs, but it seems like a workaround that might not work for all users.
