Web Clipper extension causes Gmail links to open in same window

I've recently started using the Evernote Web Clipper extension in Chrome.  I also recently discovered that when I click on a link in a Gmail message, rather than opening in a new tab, it opens in the same tab.  Very inconvenient, because then you have to either go back to Gmail, or open another tab for Gmail to continue reading messages.   I thought this was a problem with Gmail or Chrome settings, but I've discovered now that it's the Evernote extension.  If I remove the extension from Chrome, my Gmail functions fine (i.e. when I click on a link, Gmail remains open in the original tab and the link opens in a new tab).  Help?

I've noticed the same behaviour in Chrome. Is there a fix?
