+1... why can't I get rid of this menu bar item?! It interferes with space I need there for other options.

Plus 100 from myself as well. The <cr> destroying what I thought were my checklists, but were apparently checkboxes that became checklists. I have taken to copy-pasting my old checkboxes since I didn't know about the (KLUDGY) workaround of having to go find a new checkbox format instead of building off my old check-box/lists...
