The same issues affects Evernote 6.8 on OS X 10.9, giving the error "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." with the Console reporting "CFNetwork SSLHandshake failed."
Evernote is changing their backend and have upgraded their security stack beyond what OS X 10.9 and Windows XP support.
