Yes, you are being rigid, and prematurely so. Again, this is a preview, not the end product.  I'm pretty sure that the development team has a pretty good idea about how far they have to go.

Yes, I was rigid. Sorry again, I will try to be more respectful further. Time will show who was right with this preview and I hope it will be you. But, again, my experience says me that we will get web version in windows app view.

I don't know your use case, but if you spend a significant amount of time organizing tags, then you're using Evernote in a way that doesn't make much sense to me (I have way more than 100 tags, across two accounts, and I spend virtually 0 time organizing them)

And I don't know your use case. Because I can demonstrate to you, for example, searching for phrase "photos for documents" with certain note in notepad with name "photos for documents". And Evernote won't be able to find this note, but it will find a lot irrelevant notes. But if you know tags for this note, you can find it easily without hundreds of irrelevant search results.

I wrote about this to Evernote team. But as usial, nothing was changed. So I changed my approach and now use search only with tags. I don't know how you can find anything without tags. I thought it is a main way to use Evernote. And there were answers from Evernote Support, which convinced me in it.

There are more reasons why I prefer Evernote over Notion.

Can you mention all reasons? I never use it, so I would be glad to know what drawbacks I should consider if decide to switch to Notion. Articles and videos on the Internet didn't help, they are too superficial.

They've never been implemented. Why do you expect them to be in the preview?

And for what reason they have never been implemented? Windows has dark theme, Notion has, Evernote Android has, MS Office has... All big software has dark theme. Don't forget that many users asked about this.

"Three dot" menu, View Note Info..., In the Note Info dialog, View History

Please, be more attentive. I wrote it. It's 4 clicks instead of 2 and it send us to browser, another application I don't want to use.

Click on the "Tags" label in the left panel, not the triangle dropdown button: a larger panel will slide out to the right. You can move tags around there. Or select a tag for filtering.

Larger? You call this list is larger panel? I see here 10 tags, but I have 100. How can I manage them now?

I don't know what "auto-adjustment" is, but if you click on an image, you get a resize control. I tried it. It works.

Pictures too wide and you can't do anything about it. Evernote "forgets" about adjustments after some time.

It's probably caching notes as you view them, rather than downloading them all at once.

So now I can't see all my notes, only first year.

Doesn't work the same, at least at this point. You should be able to filter multiple tags using  search, but that doesn't seem to be working yet.

At this point? Why you think it doesn't work at this point? Go to web version and try to do the same.

My friend, who are you? I see you have very high rating, so you helped users a lot. Why you defend an awful product? They take their useless web-version and put it into a Windows program view. They don't do anything more. I am sure that they try to kill many useful features we use in Windows client. You can share my point of view after viewing the last videos on the YouTube Evernote channel. Incompetent command with small Evernote experience.
I ask you to forgive me for my rigid tone, but all these questions very important for me. They show that the new application will be a copy of the web version, but the web version doesn't have a lot of function Windows version has. In your answers, you tried to mild the problem. But the new version is a problem, and the development team should know about it.

I think (and hope) that this actual beta-Version does not include all the features Evernote want's to (and should) deliver to the future stable versions.

Yes, they even wrote it on the beta download page, but... I am not so optimistic. I can understand the Evernote team problem. They have a Windows Evernote version what very different from web-version. So instead of improving the functionality of web-version, they try to give us a more smooth design and reduce Windows version features.
And I am afraid they will kill old Windows client with many useful options in it.
It's not the first time I see this approach in cloud-based apps. So I hope they won't kill any of the current views, options and features in Windows client. But I am not optimistic about it.

Another problem: When I quit out of Evernote Preview it leaves behind a process named "Evernote Preview" that continues to use 40 to 50% CPU and 400 to 650 MB of memory and continues to write to the disk at the rate of 0.5 to 1.1 MB/s with "Very high" power usage.

It only goes away when I kill it manually. And it only comes back when I open Evernote Preview.

EDIT: It only leaves the process behind if I just hit the X at the top right of the window. If I do a Fill:Exit it shuts down as it should.

Yes, but question is why it uses so much RAM and CPU even after 10 hours of constantly working...

Has anyone found a way to ADD a new word to the Dictionary? The functionality seems to be gone from the right-click context menu and I have not been able to discover a new way to do it.

Yes, I don't find Spelling Checker too.

  7. Oh, guys, it is awful. This is was my first searching after trying the future Evernote:

I used it only 1 hour and noticed lacking many useful functions, concentrating on reducing functionality to be similar web-version, and of course, lacking any options we have been asking in this forum.

    For example:

    1) Lacking the Card View option. Now I can't filter my cards and see all of them in one place without a microscopic list view and view of one card (the first one), which I don't need. It will slow down the searching note, indeed.
    2) Lacking Searching option. Try to use such a request: "-tag:Business tag:Language-English tag:Language-Speaking." When you implement this search request, you figured out that "-tag:Business" didn't implement. Where string with searching request? It disappeared. So now you can't adjust your search.
    3) Lacking CTRL+Help option. I didn't find any opportunities to optimize or fix the database. And I won't believe you if you say you fixed issues with database errors. No way.
    4) Lacking the Tags View option. How can I adjust all my 100+ tags? In a tiny list window?
    5) Where is a Black Theme? Users have been asking for this for ages. Where is it?
    6) Where is a Link to a specified place in note option? Users have been asking for this for ages. Where is it?
    7) Where is a Note history option? (I found it in three dots area -> note info -> view history ... and oops! it's doesn't work and send me to web version)
8.) Where is Pictures auto-adjustment option? Why again I see huge wide pictures in my note when they suppose to be small?
    9) Why I can't see all Tags in Note? Only first 4-5. How can I understand, should I add one or not if I don't see all of them?
    10) Why it's so slow? Open a note takes 3-5 seconds. 1 year + notes I can't open at all 1 hour after starting the program.
    11) Why it requires 1Gb RAM and 25-30% i7 CPU?
    12) Where is Multiply Tags selecting option? I pressed tags with CTRL, and it doesn't work.

OMG. Of course, the picture above is a joke. But if we see THIS as a new Evernote, it will be a bitter reality, not a fun.
