I noticed the same thing, it happens when you leave the notes column open, if you scroll to the top, it stops, and if you maximize the note, it also stops.

When are you guys releasing the final version of the new evernote web? 7 months have passed since the release of this version...

Maybe the web app is better optimize for chromium and not safari.
