I would also love to have this ability. I find myself wanting to swap items in a checkbox list and copy pasting checkboxes in Evernote is a pain due to the way the checkbox is handled. You need to:

1. Select the whole line and cut
2. Delete the empty line left when you cut the item with checkbox
3. Make a new line
4. Delete the checkbox automatically created when you made the new line
5. Paste the new checkbox in the new line
