You are wrong, but you probably have never tested it.

Connect an external Bluetooth keyboard with iPhone or iPad, and cmd-A is working without any problem, in EN as well as other iOS apps.

In EN there are even app-specific shortcuts available. Just hold down the cmd-key, and within short a list of the shortcuts shows. There are less than on the Mac, but they may help.

With the iPad dedicated iPad keyboards using the connector pins work as well.

These functionality is not available with the standard iOS soft keyboard. Maybe there are other soft keyboards in the AppStore that have a cmd-key, you can search for them.

Conclusion: If you have the necessity to do text processing (or other similar tasks) on an iOS device, get yourself a keyboard.

P.S. Written on the iPhone 11 using a Logitech  K380 Bluetooth keyboard.

Sorry, some words were dropped in my original post. Yes, it does work in macOS, Windows, and probably Android (I didn't test it on my Android phone because that's not my primary mobile device) of course it can be done with an external keyboard for the iPhone but I'd like the feature on the iOS/iPhone version with the soft keyboard.

OKAY I FIGURED IT OUT ON MY OWN. WILL POST THE SOLUTION.

  2. If I've got a note open in either the read-only or edit mode on my iPhone there doesn't seem to be an easy way to select all text in the note. Yes, I can tap, then drag the handlebar down to the bottom of the text but I have some notes that are very long which takes a long time to drag, and easy to succumb to accidentally letting go of the end handle. I want to be able to copy/paste the text into another app.

There should be a 'Select All' command when I double/triple-tap a word/sentance when the action choices come up. It's a total PITA the way it is now having to drag. Am I missing something? Is there some hidden command? Things like this make me despise iOS apps since I have no easy Command-A or Ctrl-A like in macOS and Windows. I'm running Evernote for iOS 10.16 on iPhone.
