Evernote journal

Hi
I have been using the journal app for about a month but yesterday's entry is still stuck in Journal (denoted by the red circle with a 1'in it) ie it hasn't uploaded to Evernote proper. I have tried writing an entry for today - that works, I have closed down both programs - makes no difference.
I have Evernote on my Mac book pro and my iPad mini (journal entry that is 'stuck' is on my mini)
Any ideas?
