On Mac Evernote only open links in Safari

It seems that Evernote is supposed to open up links in the default (chosen) browser, but on Mac, that's not the case. At least not on my computer.

Is this how it supposed to be on OS X or is it just my computer and, if so, how can I fix it?

SOLVED: Firefox made me think it was the default browser, but it wasn't. Now it works.

Not sure what you're seeing, but there's two types of Evernote links
- classic: opens in application
- public & private internet links (https://www.evernote.com/.....)
  I would expect these to open in the default browser

Had the exact same issue with Chrome on my Mac. It was set as the default browser and correctly opened when using hyperlinks in all my apps, except Evernote. It was correctly set in the system preferences as "Google Chrome.app" was the selected choice. In order to fix it I had to do the following:

1. Set the "Default web browser" to "Safari.app"
2. Open a link from within Evernote (it opened Safari)
3. Change the "Default web browser" to "Google Chrome.app"
4. Open a link from Evernote (it opened Chrome)

For posterity, I had the same issue, and Boblemarin's simple solution worked.  Possibly a bug in OS X.
