It would be useful to be able to expose a note's source code in order to make edits that aren't possible using the Editing Toolbar. Perhaps a note could be divided into two tabs: the default WYSIWYG view in one tab, and the note's source code in the other.

You can export to ENEX, edit and import if you want to modify the EN source code.  Also, there is a tool called ENML that enables the editing of notes.  Usual caveats to using such a tool.  I've used it for simple things without any ill effects.
