skwan 0
Hi Guys! I'm using Evernote version 6.6.1 on OSX EI Capitan Version 10.11.3, and I can't seem to search in notebooks stacks. I searched previous forums are they told me you could search by using stacks:<notebook name> except that doesn't seem to be working for me. Attached are a few images of my search. Link to comment

You're working in the Notebook page, using the searchbox for notebooks. Try backing out to the home page and doing the search from there. Link to comment
skwan 0
Hi Guru, What I meant was is it possible to search for stacks instead of notebooks. When I type in 'writing stack' I don't want to see all the notes within a stack, I want to see a list of notebook names within that stack. Is it possible? Thanks! -skwan Link to comment
Level 5* CalS 5,280 Posted April 29, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted April 29, 2016 If you select the stack in the left panel or from the notebook dropdown in the search area, you should be searching for notes only in that stack. Link to comment

I wouldn't have thought it needed a search As per the example below, just clicking on the arrow to the left of the stack shows all the notebooks of the stack Link to comment
skwan 0
Yes, I did did consider that, but as you see by my screenshot, I have a lot of notebooks in Evernote, which is why I wish to search notebooks that are within my stack. It's true that I could use what you suggested, but I was trying to figure out a more time-effective way to search and find things. I did consider adding the stacks to my evernote shortcuts, but for some reason I can't seem to see the shortcuts menu, do you have a solution to that? Link to comment

I notice you have your sidebar reduced to the minimum width and it only shows icons for notes, notebook, tags You can expand the width by putting the mouse cursor on the right margin and dragging it wider.
