Annotating Images Reduces the Image Quality.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've noticed an issue with annotations with Evernote. I occasionally add text and arrows to images I have saved in Evernote. I've noticed that recently the images are immediately being reduced to very poor quality after saving an annotation.

For example... A source image saved in Evernote is 700x1136 pixels (357KB). After drawing a little arrow on the image and saving it, the image file becomes 336x546 (189KB).

Is there some way to prevent annotated images from shrinking and compressing? If not, this feature is broken IMO.

Also, I haven't tried using Skitch. I'm hoping to be able to keep this function within Evernote and not have to launch Skitch.

I'm using Evernote 6.6 on a Mac running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4

I'd like to second this. Just went from a 1,500dpi JPEG of a diagram (crystal clear), to one which is completely pixelated.

Also haven't tried Skitch - I don't see the need of having 2 apps which (should) do the same thing.

Editing PDFs does not have the same effect.
