However there are a number of other app options on both platforms that will record to an MP3 file in various levels of quality for as long as you have disk space, and which allow pausing along the way. You can attach MP3 files to notes for playback on different platforms, again subject to note size limits and the existence of an app that can play MP3 files - doesn't have to be the same app that created the file.
