I'd imagine it's the HTML-fu of the email that means they know who you are when you start the survey, and you're automatically entered. To put this in perspective I've been completing 'complete this <insert survey here> and win a prize' promotions for longer than there's been email. I have yet to see any prizes... Link to comment
