I have searched through as best I can to see if this request has been made but could not find it. I would like to simply be able to pick a tag on the left side and start a new note and have it automatically have the tag chosen on the left associated with the new note. This would save me time on many notes that only have one tag. For people like me that use tags for everything I think this would be very helpful. Link to comment

I agree, this would be very useful. Until/IF Evernote provides this, you might be able to use automation tools like: Some Popular Keyboard Macro Utilities Mac Keyboard Maestro Windows AutoHotKey PhaseExpress These tools also provide lots of other useful features.
