3 Screen Snap Options Not Working

I opened Skitch this morning and noticed that the top three options in the Screen Snap dropdown are not functioning.

 

Expected Behavior

 

1. Click the "Screen Snap..." option from the dropdown.

2. Screen darkens and crosshairs appear

3. User is able to lasso a screenshot using the crosshairs.

 

Observed Behavior

 

1. Click the "Screen Snap" option from the dropdown.

2. Nothing happens. Screen does not darken, crosshairs do not appear.

 

The bottom three options in the dropdown are all working fine.

 

I have tried quitting and restarting the application.

 

I am running Skitch version 2.7.8 on OS X 10.10.5 (Yosemite).

If you are not experiencing any other issues with the OS X screenshot commands (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361), please try reinstalling the app and let me know if you continue to experience the same issue. 

 

To reinstall Skitch for Mac, follow these steps:

 

1. If Skitch is running, press **Command + Q** to quit the Skitch app

2. Open the Applications folder and drag Skitch to the Trash

3. Right-click (or **Ctrl + Click**) on the Trash and select **Empty Trash**

4. Restart your computer

5. Download and install Skitch for Mac from www.evernote.com/skitch

6. Drag the Skitch icon into your Applications folder

7. Open Skitch and log in to your Evernote account
