Is Evernote ever going to come out with a feature that allows receipts, etc. scanned into Evernote via the Evernote scanner to be read by OCR like the Neat system does?

I use a Windows 7 Desktop and scan in all my receipts for both personal and business.  But  if I wish to find one I have to stumble a whole bunch of PDF documents rather than doing a search.

Given the fantastic program Evernote is, it seems that this would be a no-brainer.

Hi.  Are you a free,  plus or premium user?  If you're premium and are scanning at a reasonable resolution,  your receipts should be OCR'd automatically...

At a guess,  you either need to be scanning to a 'searchable' PDF,  scanning to a folder on your desktop and doing batch OCR before uploading,  or scanning at a higher resolution.  As you're premium,  raise a support request - choose an appropriate option in the first dropdown after logging in here > https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action - or reach out on Twitter @Evernotehelps

Premium / Business users also have access to a Chat option (7am-7pm PST weekdays) - click 'continue' on the support page after logging in.

Instead of bringing the thermal receipts back to my home scanner, I just use the CamScanner app in my phone to capture the receipt as a PDF and send it to Evernote.

I used to use CamScanner, too, but I've found the Evernote "scan document" selection works faster and better than CamScanner.

1.) Does the Evernote Scan Document automatically crop down to the thermal receipt size?

2.) Where would I find the Evernote Scan Document?

I am using the latest version of Evernote Windows desktop.

(I thought Scannable was only for Apple phones.)
