eloril 1
Shared URLs are now forcing the browser to download the image instead of display them. Example link: http://note.io/1JgwZbP Network tab of browser shows: Content-Disposition:attachment; filename="skitch.png"How can we get this fixed? the purpose of skitch is to show people images, not force them to download it. rthrash 2
This is indeed really frustrating. All png files are now downloading as attachments. Link to comment
kgg 75
We expect to have this issue addressed soon. In the meantime, as a workaround, switching from the "Direct Image URL" to "Note URL" will prevent the image from downloading. Here's a screenshot of where you can make the change: https://www.evernote.com/l/AQfTXcI_1WhJYabHyBjPdE4Yffky5c7eVl4 Link to comment
rthrash 2
This makes it hard to use Evernote now for creating technical documentation and screenshots because of this. Will this be fixed anytime soon? The Note URLs are less than optimal because it results in a smaller, square cropped image when posting in things like Slack Channels, too. 1 Link to comment
Alan Houser 6
Images download in Firefox, but on Chrome and Safari they open in the browser window. 1. It's a mime-type setting in the browser. 2. If you're using Firefox, don't. Under OPTIONS, when selecting "Direct Image URL", this is the type of URL you should be seeing: https://www.evernote.com/l/AAu17ZOhEhFPUrTlriaff5I622RHxj7MJogB/image.png Link to comment

Solution kgg 75 Posted July 21, 2015 Solution Share Posted July 21, 2015 Thanks for your patience while we worked on this. Direct image URLs displaying in the browser are no longer supported on Skitch. If you would like to have the image display in the browser please switch to the "Note URL" option as shown here: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s263/sh/d35dc23f-d568-4961-a6c7-c818cf744e18/7df932e5cede565e. eloril 1
I don't even understand why you'd remove this. The webservers clearly support it as you can just load the note URL then click the image and you get the direct URL anyway. It's just forced advertising to make sure people know we're using skitch. But I use this for documentation, not to paste stuff to others. Such a shame, bye skitch. 1 Link to comment
rthrash 2
Wow. Fantastic way to treat paying customers. Time to look for another solution and to cancel my premium account. I too used it for documentation and collaboration internally, and now you're really breaking the workflow by purposefully choosing a broken mime type for Evernote servers. Complete jerk move. 1 Link to comment

It's a pity, I liked and supported Skitch much from the beginning. Now it is just a tool from the list of mediocre screenshoters. 1 Link to comment

raistlinxw 0
I've been struggling with this for most of a year, then finally found this thread. Glad to finally have a resolution. I'm leaving Skitch now in favor of Annotate for Mac. A flat $2 and then it works with your own dropbox account. Link to comment

It works great, straight to imgur, local storage in a folder you choose. Link to comment
Ashant Chalasani 0
Disappointing to see this feature be downgraded, and makes my Premium account worthless. I'm not going to renew, unfortunately paid a whole year in advance. Cannot use it in documentation in Image-URLs Being forced to promote Evernote brand using Note URL. I don't want to. I paid for Premium just to use the service, not to promote your brand. People I'm sharing URLs with are forced to download files. They hate me for it, for a stupid feature-tweak _you made! nblumoe 0
This is indeed very annoying, clearly you are removing a useful feature for the sake of some additional promotion. Really disappointing move. Link to comment
Ricardo Martins 0
The reason behind this seems to be simple. They just want to avoid people using shared images in websites with huge amount of traffic and paying the bandwidth for them. Of course they'd have other ways to limit that, but... Link to comment
