Hi all,

Earlier today we released Evernote for iOS 7.7.2, and it should be available to everyone in the App Store shortly.

This release was focused around the new and improved Evernote Premium, and the introduction of Evernote Plus. You can read more about the new tiers on the Evernote blog: Introducing Evernote Plus and the new Evernote Premium

New Features in 7.7.2:
  • Introduction of new pricing tier, Plus, and improvements to Premium
    • Evernote Plus includes offline notebooks, mobile passcode, and more
    • Evernote Premium now includes unlimited monthly uploads
    • With this change, the Premium Settings menu has been removed
      • “Offline Notebooks” can now be found in Settings > General > Notebooks > Offline Notebooks
      • “Passcode Lock” can now be found in Settings > General > Passcode Lock
  • Evernote for Apple Watch improvements
    • Some business card notes were displaying the “mailto:” prefix for email addresses and “%20” for spaces in phone numbers
    • Location has been enabled for determining which notes to recommend on the Watch
      • To enable this, go to the Settings app > Evernote > Location > Always
  • Numerous bug fixes and improvements
    • Image size options in Settings > General > Camera were not being respected for some pictures
    • Using the Camera button from the Today widget was creating blank, untitled notes
    • Profile names were not always saving after updating in Settings > Profile
    • Notebooks can be re-attached to work chat threads
  • One security fix
You can download the Evernote for iOS app from the App Store.

As always, please let us know what you think.

Cheers!

If you have a free account and you're currently using the email feature, you'll be getting a message soon about this becoming a paid feature. We won't start enforcing the limit on free accounts for a month to give you time to transition your workflow.

The email feature is the only feature moved out of the free tier.

Hi all,

Earlier today we released Evernote for iOS 7.7.3 as a follow-on release to fix a few bugs around the in-app purchase flows.

This forum post will serve as the place to discuss functional issues with either 7.7.2 or 7.7.3.

Cheers,

Chuck

Any fixes to the many issues about the Camera feature reported in the Ver 7.7.1 thread (and elsewhere)?

Hi,

A couple fixes that made it in the 7.7.2 release for the camera were noted above (and copied below):

  • Numerous bug fixes and improvements
    • Image size options in Settings > General > Camera were not being respected for some pictures
    • Using the Camera button from the Today widget was creating blank, untitled notes

We are digging in on the top crashing issues, and the 7.7.4 version of the app will have many fixes in that area.

Cheers,

Chuck

I can't take pictures anymore with 7.7.3 on iPhone 6 plus. After first picture taken with the phone, the app crashes immediately. It only happens with AUTO recognition of documents. Please fix it. I tried to delete and re-download the app. Same problem.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you (and others) are having issues with the camera. We are working on this and will have fixes for a lot of the known crashing issues in the next release.

Meanwhile, when your phone gets into the state where it is crashing for auto-captures, we have found that restarting the device and relaunching Evernote will usually fix the problem - at least temporarily. We're not thrilled with this workaround and realize that it is not convenient to restart your device, but we're committed to making this better in upcoming releases.

Cheers
