Scannable to fax number?

es33

Idea

Hi - any plans in the works to add native faxing ability to Scannable? (as opposed to exporting to a third party)

I know "faxing" sounds a bit old tech, but unfortunately in many instances it's the only option.  Would love to scan and immediately fax something @ like 0.10/page or something.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Can I ask—what kind of places would you be faxing to?

Recently I've had to fax documents to several government agencies, an insurance company, and a doctor's office - email wasn't an option.  I think the theme here is older, institutionalized industries that are slow to respond to tech infrastructure changes.

I would like to second this.

When I was originally testing out scanning apps, they all perfomed similarly. The one I settled on was the one that would let me fax directly through the app for an in-app charge of $0.99. It's still a fact of life that you must occasionally deal with institutions and businesses that live in the analogue past—and this is by far the easiest way to interface with them from where I live in the digital present.

I would also like to see an option to be able to send via fax or fax from Evernote directly.  Not sure if there is already an Evernote app for that...

Reason is for sending legal documents.  Unfortunately many law firms still rely heavily on faxing due not having secure messaging/file sharing/electronic document signing methods in place and email is not an option.

Thanks for making such a great product!

I'd like to 3rd/4th or 5th this!!!  My daughter has a chronic disease and we are always having to fax the latest report from a sepcialist to several other doctors and to the insurance company, again, email is not an option with them.

I started researching making Evernote my medical record respository, but doctor office's seem to only send records via Fax.  This is because fax is a HIPPA approved method for sending data.  Email is not currently approved by HIPPA requirments.  If you look at mymedicalrecords.com, they are becoming the Evernote for medical records simply because they accept faxs into a customers record folder.

I will hop on the 'we want fax' bandwagon.  Although we do not often have to digress to fax documents, it is still a significant feature in the financial world. Any plans, Scannable (Evernote) to add this feature?

Perhaps enlightening us to the technical difficulties in accoplishing this would be helpful.

Thank you so much for your support. Honestly, I would like to try Cocofax because it's free for the first month. I even don't have to pay anything. According to my research Cocofax looks better and reliable which ensure to send  free fax online  view full pricing detail here. Besides, I can unsubscribe this service anytime. What do you think?

There are plenty of offers for scanning apps that allow to fax the scanned content. They all work on a payment plan, usually a down payment for a number of faxes to send, with rebates for heavy users. I am mostly using Scanner Pro, that has such an option.

Scannable is designed to work mostly with EN.

IMHO there is no need to bloat it into a full sized scanning app, with exotic options like sending faxes (we are living in 2020, not 1985 ...).

To be honest, I only reviewed/selected Hello Fax because of the Evernote integration
There's a comparison at https://www.g2.com/compare/cocofax-vs-hellofax
afaik the services are equivalent and offer a full fax solution (in/out)

If I look at this coconut thing, it may give 30 days of free trial, but then it switches to a subscription - at twice the cost of EN Premium even for the Basic account.

And what for ? To be able to send faxes ....

Even when you use your monthly assignment of 200 Pages, each faxed page will cost 6,5ct. And who needs to send 200 faxes a month, that is 10 per Labor Day. Do you belong to the Nigerian connection ?!

For me it is simple as that:

My Dell Laser printer / scanner / whatever has a fax function. So whenever something is already on paper, I take a pencil, write to it, stuff it to the multi-printer and can fax it. And then I scan it and try to avoid to create more paper.

Because most times my workflow is paperless, I take the feed, write it up on my iPad using my Apple Pencil, and send it by E-Mail. No need to fax.

When I receive a fax, my router (that handles my phone as well) grabs it, converts it from the faxes garble-gurgle-sound to a virtual document and send it to me by e-Mail.

How often do I need it ? If once a month it is a busy month.

This post is again a cheat: The service promoted here has a 30-day-trial, and after that will charge appr. 15$ a month, based on a 12 month subscription.

A free trial is NOT a free service, and telling so against facts is no help for other users in the forum.
