For over a year I have been updating Evernote crossing my fingers and hoping to see this issue addressed. To my disappointment it still remains an issue despite the dramatic changes to Evernote over all.
I have seen this discussed in other threads and the Evernote team comment on it. Hopefully people are aware of what i'm talking about and we can agree it would be great to have this fixed.
The problem:
After selecting a tag in the left hand bar the highlighted text reverts back to normal text despite the tag being selected.
This makes it impossible to easily select multiple tags to narrow ones search (using this left hand bar.)

Despite this small issue I would like to thank all of the team over at Evernote for a fantastic product. For me personally its been a life changing tool. Many many thanks!
