Wow, new release the same day of MAC, too bad that don't have the same features (presentation, photo and tables resizable, and os on).

Please, is hard to push in a market (business) where Win is the major actor a solution where Mac is always first.

May I ask which version of Windows are you on?

Yeah, well we have a configurable toolbar, and can remove Work Chat (which seems to drive the Apple folks nuts), so there... :)

Hi,

I agree. For me the biggest thing missing Evernote is indeed better formating capabilities, at least as it was inserted on Mac.

Bookmark or Heading, it would be super!

Being a Onenote and Evernote user, I must say, definetelly Evernote at this, must strecht to catch Microsoft.

Come on Evernote!? Please ;)

To share a single note in the Work Chat is easy: there is an icon above each note.

But at the notebooks I'm seeing only the previous sharing function - is there anywhere an extra option for the Work Chat???

Just upgraded from 5.6.4 to 5.72 and I can't synchronise!

C'mon guys - this is serious - I am running an operational system using Evernote - and this is HUGELY inconvenient!

Is there anyway I can dial back to 5.6.4 (although I have to note that my laptop - which is still running 5.6.4 cannot synchronise either!)

Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!

Can you provide details of your sync problem?  Are you getting any error messages?  Have you checked the Activity Log?

If you are getting a "connection error", it might be due to the SSL 3 issue.  See:  Fix to Poodle SSL 3.0 Issue

JMichael - Disabled SSL 3 in Internet Explorer and restarted computer - but Evernote still isn't synchronising, on either my Desktop (running 5.7.2), or my Laptop (running 5.6.4). OS on both systems is Win 7 (64 bit).

I have logged a ticket (#833100) and attached my Evernote Activity Log - but Monday is a l-o-n-g way away (!) - particularly since Redwood is ten hours behind me. And the local situation is not being helped by rolling blackouts because of electricity infrastructure undercapacity - which makes synchronisation all the more important.

Feeling like I have been double-whammied!

Right now I think I'll have another scotch and go to bed (local time 00:48)

I AM SO FRUSTRATED. I have installed/ uninstalled / reinstalled the latest Evernote desktop version (5.7.2), and I cannot even get to first base! I tried the "--ssl-version-min=tls1" fix in the Poodle article to no avail.

I am running Win7 with the latest updates. I turn off my Eset virus protection while installing. But when I click the icon to start the program, it is unable to find my internet connection. It simply errors out with the message it needs an internet connection in order to synchronize. It never brings up any part of the program where I can enter my account info.

I have been fighting with this for 2 days. I was planning to upgrade to Pro, but now I see there are plenty of synchronization problems with the paid version. Evernote is a great product, but I am wondering why I should even bother with the desktop version of the program.

Interesting - I managed to synchronise my laptop (still running 5.6.4) this morning - but cannot synchronise my desktop (running 5.7.2).  Which I suppose is progress of a sort - but needless to say my more recent notes are all on the desktop (we call that Sod's Law in this part of the world).

Well, as of about four hours ago, I can report that both my desktop (5.7.2) and my laptop (5.6.4) are now both synchronising with the Evernote servers. So I guess some nameless hero in Redwood spent part of his (or her) weekend sorting out the problem. Thank you most kindly and sincerely for that - this Feline isn't feeling quite so Ferocious!

Thanks for the link. I've been trying to update from EN menu and it doesn't complete. After the update, the software opened instantly, rather than the 3+ minutes I've lived with for months. Then I created a new notebook, which has also been taking many minutes - again instant. Sync worked fine.

So far, really nice

Edit: I did have to rebuild my toolbar, but no big deal

I still can't get the new version to open without crashing with a fatal error. I have submitted a support ticket 9 days ago with no response. I have premium and thought that support came with what I paid for. I've reverted versions but it's very frustrating to have an unusable product and no support!

OK - thanks everyone! It seems to be syncing again now, but it wouldn't sync for 5 - 6 hours, which had me kind of worried. It certainly wasn't a general internet connectivity problem because I was logging onto other sites in the US as well as Europe, Asia and locally.

I have noticed recently (after the 5.7.2 upgrade) that synchonisation is sometimes a wee bit balky - I sometimes have to restart the sync two or three times to get a clean sync.

I have just fired up my laptop which I haven't used for three days, and it only completed synchronisation on the third attempt.

So, hopefully, all is now well - but I remain a tad sensitive about failed synchronisation.
