Evernote on Windows Sync Fail

I am using the latest version of Evernote for Windows (just did update this morning).  I also rebooted the computer per the on-line help topic for sync failure.  I also tried sync (F9) with the Windows Firewall on and off, bot times, failed to sync.  Below is the activity log ... any suggestion are most appreciated

Seems to relate to 'can't connect' messages - is your local connection good?  Have you retried since?

The best way to test your Internet connection is to run SpeedTest.net.

Sorry to not have specified this, but my internet connect has always been good and furthermore, I can use the Evernote web app while the sync was failing with the Windows version of Evernote.

 

I thought it had to with the Windows Firewall, but turning the Firewall completely off made no difference and after that I checked the proxy settings and there is no proxy server set up.

OK - back to basics I think:  try uninstalling and reinstalling Evernote.  If you're a premium user you might want to raise a support request (see below) and try the Chat option for some quick feedback.  Otherwise -

 

Completely exit Evernote and backup your database folder first,  uninstall Evernote and restart your computer,  then download the latest version to reinstall.

Yes, the only thing guaranteed to work with Windows!!!  Delete and re-install!  I'm just glad that Microsoft hasn't been adopted for embedded systems like my anti-lock brakes and aircraft autopilot systems...

Evernote seems to think that the first line of defense to all problems is a delete and reinstall.

This is ridiculous!   It is an indication of serious underlying problems with Evernote.

 

Imagine if you had to delete/reinstall every app on your computer every time there was a problem.  :(

JMichael, did you manage to resolve the issue.  I am still getting the same problem, over a month later and many uninstall - reinstall - reboots.  Not only that, I have bought a new laptop and it still does not sync.

I have same issue on my PC as well. 

I also try with PC format but still evernote issue not resolve.

Also submitted ticket on evernote support but no reply on support ticket as well.

Hi ,

I too am facing the same issues, as mentioned by Larry norder.

I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, tried on 3 different PC's, but its coming the same. Can figure it out , how do I resolve it.

Hi All,

I've given up on this and use Evernote through Chrome Browser on my Windows machine.  I DO NOT have this sync problem on my Macbook...

Do any Evernote Employees read these posts?  Please reply.

Can Evernote or an Employee of them at the very least make a public statement that there is a serious problem with synchronisation on the Evernote Windows platform.  What response are Evernote making to the issue?  Is it there intention to resolve it, or carry on head-in-the-sand frustrating and upsetting paying customers?

 

I would really appreciate a formal response from Evernote.  Customer Service is useless, and many have tried that route to no avail.

I have the same problem. Evernote won't SYNC on Window's Desktop.

 

I've tried all the troubleshooting steps on the Knowledge Base to no avail. 

 

Has anyone found a fix?

@K Drage - This is a user forum,  not a direct connection to either Evernote or the Support team,  and while staffers do read these posts,  they're not usually the guys (or gals) who set policy or even know what's happening on the Windows development team.  

 

Evernote Employee @Jackolicious commented a few days ago = "We are actively working with many users directly to help diagnose and resolve sync issues."  (https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/80258-evernote-for-windows-582-beta/?p=339376)  and the same thread launched the latest Windows Beta which does fix some issues.  Sync problems can be due to a whole range of issues,  and the best way to fix them is often to work carefully through the standard boring checks that have been listed frequently in the forum,  because a fair number are down to large notes,  "invalid" characters in URLs or titles,  and slow connections.  There are still some issues that the team are working on,  but not having a Harry Potter wand,  they need co-operation from users to work out what's causing individual problems.

 

If you're a premium or business subscriber,  please follow through with a support request.  If not,  please let us know what OS you have,  what error message / problems you're seeing and exactly what you've tried so far,  and maybe we can offer some more suggestions.

Support definitely seems snowed under of late... Have you tried the Live Chat option? It should be available to you as a Premium user.

Another user commented yesterday that Evernote confirmed to him another Windows sync issue has now been identified and an update to fix it is in the works.  Let's hope something surfaces soon...
