Changing default PDF zoom-setting

Hi there,

I am finding Evernote for Mac extremely useful, but there is one issue which is problematic for me.

When I drag a PDF into a note, it always zooms to fill the window. When I right-click on it I see that "Automatically resize" is selected. When I change that to "actual size" the PDF goes back to its proper size.

I would like "actual size" to be the default setting for all added PDFs. Is there a way to set this as a default?

There isn't currently a way to do this in the UI, but thanks for the feedback.

You can also right-click to open the PDF in your preferred desktop viewer instead.

aren't more people asking for this? evernote for Mac is basically useless for reading more than a one page PDF without opening it with another PDF app. what's so hard about fixing that?

I agree. This would be an incredible feature to add in Evernote. I like using the software to capture all inputs in my life, but I can't read .pdf's in the UI with such a high zoom. If that's not possible, I'd rather just an icon to double-click, as it is useless to have the whole page taken up with a document.

Is there any update on this? It's been over 5 years since the original question, and PDF zoom level is still very much an annoyance

Just started putting all my stuff into Evernote after buying a 1 month subsc. to Pro to see if I'd like it.

 

Good news:  It looks incredible!  Basically exactly what I need.

 

Bad news:  Not being able to zoom on documents, pictures, spreadsheets, etc is *nearly* a deal-breaker. I could look the other way on new web services/apps, but for a product as well-known and marketed as Evernote, the REAL deal-breaker is their inability to listen to their users - evidenced here by their several-year-long lack of response to customer feedback/input/requests.

 

If OneNote is their competitor and they offer the ability to zoom, looks like I'll be cancelling/requesting a $3 refund and taking my business to them.

[P.S.  See... this is a real issue, lurking Evernote employee (if you ever read this).  You may already have some people locked in and organized on your platform - making switching an enormous chore - but you lose ground when it comes to gaining new customers.  Something as intimately involved in your work and day to day activities is something people will test out and research.  And when an issue as minute as zooming is something that customers have been complaining about for years to no avail, people walk away.]

I strongly want this feature added as well. I use Evernote to store a lot of pictures, plots, diagrams, and screenshots, and I have never wanted them to be automatically resized. I suspect that many of your paying customers are either researchers or office workers in the same boat as me, so making "actual size" the default behavior would be really great!

Add me to the throng of EN users who want "Actual Size" as the default for viewing PDF images.  At least give us the option to set it as such.
