mbax 1
I've been very happily using Evernote, syncing among my iPad, my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. Suddenly, the iPad Evernote looks different and acts differently. It keeps asking me to log in and the layout is unfamiliar. Also, it says Evernote Web at the top. If I remove the app from my iPad and then reinstall it will the data be safe and will it sync to my iPad again? Link to comment
ScottLougheed 1,316
That is very odd. Is it possible that you are actually using the browser within the Evernote app to access the Evernote web interface? Does it look like this:https://www.evernote.com/l/ABkjbNV78BZEMpZL6rUfyrgB5KoYsRQ4sbMALook up in the top left, does it say "done"? If so, tap done to return to the familiar Evernote iOS app. Link to comment
mbax 1
Yes. That's what it looks like. I've tried tapping "Done" multiple times (and again after you told me to), but nothing happens. I didn't know it was possible to use the browser through Evernote, but that makes sense with what I see.So, what would happen if I uninstalled just the iPad app? Link to comment
ScottLougheed 1,316
As long as everything was syncing properly, which is likely is, then you won't lose any data. You probably don't have to uninstall though. Most people have had success getting "un-stuck" from the browser (this is a known issue that Evernote is trying to solve) by opening another app like email or photos, and telling your iOS device to open a photo or email attachment in Evernote (choose a small one so you don't chew through your quota!). Doing this will make Evernote create a new note with that file as the attachment. This will boot you out of a sticky browser window. Once you are un-stuck you can just delete the note you just created (unless you want to keep that file in Evernote for some reason). mbax 1
I don't know how to use an "open as" command on my iPad except in Pages, but Evernote isn't one of the choices there. Link to comment
ScottLougheed 1,316
You can do this with a PDF from the web. Try this one:http://mysite.science.uottawa.ca/rsmith43/Zombies.pdfAt the top you have "open in..." Evernote should be an option, you might need to swipe through a few pages of apps depending on how many apps you have installed. Link to comment

gbarry 2,658
We've got this fixed in beta, so once it's submitted to Apple this will be taken care of. In the mean time, Scott's workaround does indeed work great! Link to comment
