BEFORE you attach a large PDF file to Evernote, you may want to try further compressing it.  You can use apps like Adobe Acrobat and 3rd party PDF apps to do this.  Sometimes you can achieve very significant reductions in file size, 50% or more.

 

The best way to attach a PDF is to drag the PDF into an EN Note.  Once in the Note, you can make sure it will open properly from Evernote.  If you send via EMail, then you may have large email/file in your email Sent Items, and some EMail providers limit the size of attachments.
