ANSWERED Built-in multishot camera takes only 640x480px pictures

Recommended Posts

Hi,

It seems like after the SONY Xperia SP 4.3 system update the Evernote "multishot camera" takes pictures only with 640x480px resolution. Before the update on 4.1 it took full resolution pictures like the default phone camera. Is there any trick to get back full res pics for the page camera function?

Do you especially need full-res photos?  The smaller file size will maximise your upload use,  so as long as the pics still OCR correctly and look OK on the phone...

In my Android version there's an option in the preferences for both cameras (page and multishot are different) to change resolution from 8MP downwards.  Look for a little square with two arrows in opposite directions...

Open the preferences here - post-63053-0-34753100-1397476458_thumb.j

Change resolution for the multishot cam here - post-63053-0-84002900-1397476468_thumb.j

Or the page (document) cam here - post-63053-0-16422200-1397476482_thumb.j

Thanks for the reply, that's it. I missed that control and somehow it flipped to VGA after the system update. That solves the "problem".

Open the preferences here - camera options 1.jpg

Change resolution for the multishot cam here - camera options 2.jpg

Or the page (document) cam here - camera options 3.jpg

Is this setting still available?

We've been through a few updates since then.  Camera settings are no longer available either from the camera screens - the options now are automatic or manual - or from global settings AFAICS...  I believe Evernote now chooses its own quality settings.

Thanks!  I had a question from someone, but no Android to check it on.
