(Archived) Get unwanted extra cells when adding a row to a table

When inserting a new row in a table the inserted row includes unwanted extra cells at the right side of the added row.  For example, adding a row to a 3x4 table gives a new row with 7 cells instead of 3.  Has anyone else seen this and do you have a way to avoid this behavior or to remove the unwanted extra cells in the added row?

Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately this workaround is only useful in a small number of cases. More often, I need to insert a row between two other rows or swap the order of two rows. Selecting the entire row and performing a copy (or cut) and paste results in totally unexpected and incorrect behavior.

You are certainly right for those times when all you need is to add more rows at the end of the table, though.
