(Archived) Stop forcing me to change my password

Recommended Posts

My evernote info does not need high security. Hence, I prefer to

use one particular password for this kind of security. Please provide

users an option to disable evernote's password automations such as:

1) inhibiting an old (previously used) password from being used

2) forcing users to periodically change their password

Let users have control over their password!

First, EN NEVER requires a periodical password change. They implemented a forced one recently. Please read the hot threadd on the board, if you haven't yet figured out why. (You should be receiving an email soon, if you haven't already).

Second, reusing a password for you may be fine. But in general, it's bad security, especially in a case like the recent EN hack, where (encrypted) passwords may have been compromised. So it's doubtful EN would back off on this restriction.

You can reset your password to the same password as always.  This may be a bad idea for some but you do not have to CHANGE it, just reenter it.
