Can you select multiple notes and assign a tag for all of them?

You should be asking this in the forum specific to your Evernote client. In answer: in the Windows client, yes. For other clients, no, I don't think so.

Select the notes & then right click. Tagging will be an option.

Select all the notes you want to tag and drag and drop them over the tag in the tag list

There are several ways to do it in the Windows Evernote client.

One method:

1.) Select the notes you want to tag (Ctrl + Click each note)

2.) Call up the "Assign Tags" pop up window (Ctrl + Alt + T)

3.) Check off the tags you want to use and all the selected notes will be tagged

You can use some AppleScript to get the same behavior on a Mac as Ctrl-Alt-T on Windows. Although unfortunately there is a current AppleScript bug that returns some dead tags when you ask for all tags to set up a selection list. I've reported the bug, so it's on their todo list.
