New Window flash and sidebar dissappearance

Hey! Sure....it's a minor issue but has been bugging me....

There are two points:
1) Each time I open Evernote, there is a brief flash of a list of all notes
2) Each time I open Evernote, the sidebar automatically hides. I need to manually open it. But if I close the window then re-open, it's back to hidden.
