(Archived) Can't add tabs in editor - tab key just adds several spaces

It'd be great if the editor supported the tab key in the same way a normal word processor did - at the moment pressing it just adds several spaces at the insertion point, which of course get moved to the right as soon as you start typing to the left of them.

At a guess, I'd say it was probably related to the internal representation of notes in Evernote's ENML format; much like with HTML, tab characters aren't handled in the same way as in your text editor or word processor (see http://webdesign.about.com/od/intermediatetutorials/qt/tiphtmltab.htm). I think that you'll have to use the Indent Right operation -- in the Windows client it's a button on the note editing toolbar. It would be nice if the Tab key performed that operation in the note editor (and Shift + Tab did the reverse), but I don't know of any way to make it do that.

We Mac users seem not even to get an Indent Right button or menu option - ah well, thanks for your help anyway
