Evernote on Mojave 10.14 won't load

I am on a Macbook Air running Mojave 10.14. I reinstalled Evernote because it kept on showing a notification where there wasn't one (ie a red "1" by the Evernote icon on the task bar). Now I get the message "During the upgrade process we had a problem moving your data to its new location. Don’t worry, your files are safe but they may be in the wrong place. If restarting doesn’t fix things, please contact Evernote support"

I have tried reinstalling from the EN site and from the Apple site but can't get anywhere. All my data is online and secure but I need this working locally
