Annotations on Images Stop Saving

A lot of my work has to do with annotating images that I clip from my screen. Recently, I've been having trouble with that feature. I would spend so much time marking up an image, click save and exit, and the changes would not appear. I would have to try again and even on the second try, the same thing might happen. I would then restart the entire application and start over. This usually is a fix but only temporarily. That issue starts happening again after a couple more images get annotated. It's getting so frustrating now that I'm gonna rip my hair out soon. It's seriously a waste of time and energy having to repeat this process over and over again. 

I've also tried re-installing the app several times, but no dice. This issue happens on both the Microsoft Store App version and the regular desktop version.
