ab1kenobee 105
Hello, EN Members: Today for the 1st time... I was unable to update WIN EN with Evernote_6.16.4.8094.exe. so I conducted a G-SEARCH: site:evernote.com specified site account already exists ... which led me to gazump's referral LINK ... who aptly referred to: Windows Error Code 2732 workarounds I read the thread and decided to go with the simplest potential fix as discussed by gbarry's post from March 22, 2013: Quote Advanced Users/regedit option: (We mean advanced. For a detailed description and warning of what all is involved with regedits on Windows, see carehart's response below. For why we suggest this as a workaround in addition to a bit more detailed steps, see my post here.) 1. Open regedit (windows key + r, type regedit) and search (control + f) for the following: 4C8BBCC8-8363-11E2-A3F4-984BE15F174E E190C2EAF5FC03E468956D042EA3B899 If you locate any of these, delete them and reboot, then install 4.6.4. I am an ADVANCED Windows User... very comfortable in working with the WIN Registry... so I decided to search for the above REG entries. Instead in REGEDIT, I used Registrar Registry Manager, which is much faster and feature robust... which found multiple entries of E190C2EAF5FC03E468956D042EA3B899... I created a Windows Restore Point then I deleted the E190C2EAF5FC03E468956D042EA3B899 entry then rebooted then clicked on the Evernote_6.16.4.8094.exe file to test if this had solved the install update problem then updated Windows Restore Point Wallah!!! This 1st attempt worked without a hitch. No message "specified account already exists" No roll back of installation I am grateful to Gbarry and gazumped for the benefit of this quick resolution! Thank you... ~ Alan Link to comment
