Two-Step Verification without a Smartphone

Recommended Posts

I've been using Evernote Free for several years. I would like to turn on two-step verification, but it does not seem to work if I don't use a smartphone. I have neither iOS, Android nor Blackberry devices. I use only a single MacBook Pro to connect to the Internet. How can I increase the security of my Evernotes?

The first line of defence is your password.
Use a strong password that is unique for the Evernote service
- don't use this password anywhere else

You can link your two-factor auth to an application like Google Authenticator or (my recommendation), 1Password. Strong passwords, like what @DTLow suggested, are always a good idea.
