Sharing notes outside of Evernote

Recommended Posts

I used to be able to send static emails to clients and share notes to Trello and other apps. The email body and app fields would be populated with the note, pictures, pdfs, etc. This is not available anymore. It's all done through work chat and links now. Why has Evernote removed this feature? Evernote has become unusable for me.

Evernote is so complicated. Just to make a pdf and share it out, it beyond intuitive. I think you need a degree, so you can spend 10 hours troubleshooting just email someone a pdf. This is ridiculous.

Evernote is basically a filiing cabinet for your documents.
The editor has many optional features but you don't have to use them.

I have experience at making pdfs and sharing them.  This is do-able on the computer using various methods, including the Evernote editor.
If you identify your platform/device, we can provide more direct instructions.

I used Send a Copy a lot too, with the E-mail having the note title as the subject line, and all attachments inlcuded.

My only beef is that it used to also include the URL of the note, but for several years now, it no longer does.

You may be mixing up the public share link and emailing a copy.
They are separate functions and both are still available.

Share it from within the android app. It really should be a 1 to 3 taps. To share a note to someone as a pdf. None of this macgyvering nonsense. I could use the scannable app via an ios device. That works decently. Or have to get into a chrome browser version of my EN note then print then save aa pdf. These are work arounds. Shouldn't have to do all that.

I'm not an Android user but on my devices (Mac/iPad) it's a simple process to email a copy of a note.

>>To share a note to someone as a pdf.

Evernote's format is html based (enml).  A format conversion does add complication to the process.

Thanks for the link to vote to add that create link. I have Windows, MacOS and Android. I have been able to create the PDF from a note that wasn't setup as a pdf from the beginning (using the Scannable app only for iOS) and the pdf that is created is all discombobulated.
