inwoodr 0
Pretty simple question. How does one delete "recent searches" back to a blank search list using MacOS Link to comment
stephen_bradley 58
There isn't a way to do this inside the Evernote application itself, at least that I've seen. The recent search entries are stored in the ~/Library/Preferences/com.evernote.Evernote.plist which can be opened with Xcode (and probably other things, but I've only ever used Xcode). If you open that file, you'll find a recentSearches.<a long UUID number> key with sub-keys for the saved recent searches. You can delete the sub keys to remove whatever recent search you want. Delete the key with Evernote closed (or it will save on exit). You can delete the entire main key to wipe out all the searches, and it will be recreated automatically but if you do that, you have to close EN, delete the recentSearches key, open EN, close EN, and open it again. When you open it the first time after deleting the key, the recent searches still show up (I'm not 100% sure about why just yet) but if you don't do any searches then close and reopen, they're gone. Anyway, it's a bit of a hassle as you can see. Probably easier to just let them be. Only 5 recents are saved, so it's not like the list is going to grow unmanageable over time. Link to comment
