Change thumbnail size and cropping

Recommended Posts

It would be great if:

1) thumbnails showed the actual entire image, not just a square crop of the image - it makes it harder to tell from the thumbnail what the image is. Just do it like Mac Finder.

2) user could change the size of the thumbnails using a slider (again, like Mac OS)

3) user could hit the space bar (or similar) to quickly preview an image full-size, then hit escape to return to the thumbnail grid (again, like Mac OS Finder window in icon view)

4) the window didn't resize itself every time an image was opened, based on the size of that particular image - this is weird and annoying, especially since when returning to the thumbnail grid, the layout changes so the user loses their place / context because everything has shifted around

If these things can't be improved, then it would be nice to be able to just right-click and choose "View in Finder" and browse all the images that way.

thanks.

Yes, making larger thumbnails would make all the difference in the world!

Right now, the thumbnails are almost useless to sort and find what you are looking for.

Why bother having thumbnails if they cannot be seen in a larger view?

Hi.  Depending on your device (and OS) there are several options for the display - snippets,  cards etc.- and some of those have options to (amongst other things) include or exclude pictures,  which in my Windows set-up show in different sizes depending on the menu of options chosen.  I agree that it would be nice to be able to design the UI to your exact needs,  but that's not something which would benefit the whole community - even if it is possible in some OS's.

If a thumbnail view is required to move between notes,  it would be possible to create a Table of Contents note for the notebook / notes in question and use images in a table (which allows you to set the display size and includes the whole image) to replace / augment the links.
