kmacwi 0 Posted April 17, 2018 I've just upgraded evernote to 7.1 and all of a sudden the search bar doesn't display anywhere close to the results I used to draw with the same searches. It's definitely broken because if I type in a single letter, "i" for example, I get 2 notes that pop up (funny enough always the same 2 notes). Please fix this as this is my main way to access notes! ryeontoasting 0 Posted April 25, 2018 I've just upgraded 7.1 and I get zero results on any search items - using 3 char or >6 (ie. Medical) Any subjects or text within does not display. It will however only find 'tags' On MacOS 10.13.3 Slightly different from the OP, I get '0 note found' Share this post Link to post
kylometers 0 Posted April 27, 2018 I've been experiencing this for months. Without a reliable search, Evernote is completely worthless to me. Share this post Link to post

I am having the same type of issues. Neither search, Spotlight nor the Evernote search, will find notes that I know are there. Notes that cannot be found via search have a blue arrow in upper right corner. The rebuild options for both searches will not work. Nor does exporting and the re-importing a notebook that notebook. The blue arrows are still there after reimporting. Only affect "local" notebooks that reside on my laptop. Evernote Support say they are working on a fix but I am skeptical. YoMama 0 Posted September 22 It appears that this may be a MAC only issue which may explain when Evernote is not very motivated to come up with a fix. Share this post Link to post

DBDen 0 Posted October 9 I am having the same issue on my Mac, although searches on my phone work fine. I have tried the "hold shift and option keys while clicking the sync button" fix, and it has not worked. Anyone have a solution? This has made using Evernote in my work environment impossible. HelloEN 8 Posted November 4 Yes, I have been experiencing the same issue for the last week or so but was too busy to investigate, assumed it was a Catalina issue and would be sorted in a EN update promptly. I am currently trying the forced re-index with 10K+ notes, will see how that goes.. iOS and web search working fine. Have contacted support will see what they say. Share this post Link to post
PinkElephant 314 Posted November 4 There are 2 different issues possible with search on a Mac, and for problem solving one must tell them apart: Search using EN own search function: If this does not work, or results are fuzzy, hold down the <alt> (option) key before clicking on the Help menu. There will be a new option „Problem solving“ at the bottom of the help menu, with several sub-options. The first one will rebuild the internal search index of EN. Search using the MacOS Spotlight search function: Up to my last knowledge (I have not checked this in the last time) Spotlight will only find words in the title field of EN notes. It will not find text inside of notes, or attachments, or tags. This is a OS-sided restriction EN can not solve. So if you have search problems on a Mac, first use the internal search of EN instead of Spotlight, and then make sure your search index is correct if results are fuzzy.
