Resolved: Tab from Note Title to Note Shows Cursor But Doesn't Allow Editing

Recommended Posts

I try to use the keyboard to navigate as much as possible and this one is kind of annoying.

To recreate:

  • Select a note in the note list
  • Hit F2 to jump to title
  • Hit Tab to jump to note content.  You should see the cursor at this point.
  • Try typing.  I get nothing.  If I repeat F2 and Tab, it works.

I also get the same response from hitting Enter or Ctrl + Enter in the note list.
Shouldn't there be a way to edit notes from the list using just your keyboard?

I am using Evernote version Windows 6.10.3.6921 (306921) Public

I followed your steps and it worked correctly for me.

  • Select a note in the note list (OK)
  • Hit F2 to jump to title (OK)
  • Hit Tab to jump to note content.  (OK) You should see the cursor at this point. (OK)
  • Try typing.  (OK) [It works for me]  If I repeat F2 and Tab, it works.  (OK)

I can't get a screen grab of the synch pop up.

My version is slightly different. I have an option to Enable instant sync which is checked. All the other selections and check marks jive with yours.
