A red exclamation is usually a sync failure - is the note too large / have you exceeded your upload limit for the month / could the note contain copied code that is causing the issue? To safeguard the note content you may be able to create a new note and copy the content of the problematic note across - maybe using two or three new notes to split up a large original. If syncing won't work, can you email the content to yourself? If you're an Evernote subscriber you'll be able to mail the content directly there.
