Notifications/Reminders

Hi, I've been a basic user for some time now.   I use reminders on my notes a lot.  For some reason I've just started getting issues with this.  The notifications used to pop up on my phone screen and stay there until I've seen it and cleared it but now I'm missing them completely because they're either not popping up or they pop up at the appointed time but then disappear straightaway and because I'm not looking at my phone at that exact second I miss it.

I've checked the settings and there isn't much there that I can customise but I've turned on what I can both on the phone and within the Evernote app.

I'm not getting any issues with any of the other notifications from other apps ie just this one.

Does anyone have any ideas what might fix this or why it has suddenly changed recently.
