Evernote is not responding

I recently installed evernote, like an hour ago. I have 21 notes and 20 of them are template and the only one that I was actually making but the application kept freezing. Whenever I typed or added a checkbox or changed the font it'd freeze. I turned off the auto sync, I did the database optimize thingie, I uninstalled and reinstalled but the problem still persists.
